Non è un elenco di tutti i veterinari che curano camelidi in Italia e non pretende di esserlo: è l'elenco di quelli che hanno fatto domanda, che la redazione ha controllato uno per uno all'Ordine, e che hanno acconsentito a comparire. Chi manca non è escluso: non ha (ancora) chiesto.Here are those who asked to be here. This is not a list of every veterinarian who treats camelids in Italy, and it does not claim to be: it is the list of those who applied, whom the editorial staff checked one by one with the professional board, and who consented to appear. Those missing are not excluded: they have not (yet) applied.

Di ogni veterinario questo elenco pubblica il nome, la provincia e il numero d'Ordine, i recapiti che ha indicato, le specie che segue e il comune in cui lavora, con la sua provincia e la sua regione. La via e il CAP non compaiono, e non compaiono per nessuno: nemmeno se il veterinario li ha scritti nel modulo.For each veterinarian, this list publishes the name, the province and the registration number, the contact details they provided, the species they treat and the municipality where they work, together with its province and its region. The street address and the postal code do not appear, and they do not appear for anyone: not even if the veterinarian entered them in the form.
Il motivo è concreto: moltissimi di questi colleghi seguono i camelidi partendo da casa, e per loro «indirizzo dello studio» e «indirizzo di casa» sono la stessa riga. Un elenco pubblico non è il posto dove finisce l'indirizzo di casa di qualcuno. Per questo il puntino sulla carta si posa sul centro del comune e mai su una porta: dice dove cercare, non dove bussare.The reason is concrete: very many of these colleagues treat camelids starting from home, and for them «practice address» and «home address» are the same line. A public list is not the place where someone's home address ends up. This is why the dot on the map sits on the centre of the municipality and never on a door: it says where to look, not where to knock.

And this map does not request images from any external provider — the region boundaries are a file on this site, so opening it does not tell anyone else that you are looking for a veterinarian.

Il conteggio per regione dice anche il contrario di quello che mostra: una regione a zero non significa che lì non ci siano veterinari che curano camelidi, significa che nessuno di loro ha ancora chiesto di entrare nel registro. È la differenza fra una carenza e un elenco giovane, e da qui non si può distinguere.The count by region also says the opposite of what it shows: a region at zero does not mean that there are no veterinarians there who treat camelids, it means that none of them has yet asked to join the register.
